If I were a Shoe by Helena

If I were a Shoe
By Helena

I'm hardly ever used and I think it is very unfair because I am very special.  I can move very very fast.  No shoe is faster then me.  I get to go to all sorts of different places.  I get to cover myself in mud.  People can't do that.  I can also help my owner win the cross country.

I just wish I wasn't a shoe.  I'm white and blue and I can't even talk. Why do I have to be so murky?   Because I bet you 5 cents if I wasn't so murky I would be worn a lot more.

Today, at last I was worn!  I'm feeling 100%.  Maybe I won't have to spend all of my life in a shoe box!  The only problem is that the velcro on me is prickly.

I hear a heap of voices in this messy happy classroom.  There are pencil shavings all over the floor and I can hear children talking a lot. I think I am lucky to be a soft New Balance (although I am dirty).  I am so awesome.
